Elton JonesElton began serving on Gates Banking & Trust Co. Board of Directors in 2002. He graduated from Ripley High School before spending 6 years in the US Army and Reserves. Elton attended University of Memphis and Draughon’s Business College in Memphis, while working as bookkeeper for Memphis Juvenile Court. He began his banking career with Bank of Ripley in 1968 and continued until February, 1990 when he came to Gates Banking & Trust Co. He was appointed to President and CEO in 2005 then retired in 2015. He has been married to his wife, Elsie for over 21 years. They have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. Elton enjoys farming, hunting, fishing, and working on his antique autos. |
Bobby VaughnBobby began serving on Gates Banking and Trust Company Board of Directors in 1971. He graduated from Friendship High School and attended Lambuth College. Mr. Vaughn returned home upon the death of his father to care for mother and younger brother which was a shaping point in his life. After working in various advertising jobs, Mr. Vaughn started in banking at National Bank of Commerce in Jackson, TN in 1960. He came to Gates Banking and Trust Co. in 1967 and served as President and CEO from 1986 to 2005. He has been married to his wife Carolyn since 1968. They have 3 children Angela, Jennifer, and Brian and four grand children. He is an avid fisherman and duck hunter. |
Warren NunnWarren is the President and CEO of Security Bancorp, the holding company for the Bank of Halls. Warren has spent his life in banking starting his career at Union Planters National Bank in Memphis before returning to Halls in 1972. He has been on the Bank of Halls Board of Directors since 1978. He has served on boards and various committees of The University of Memphis, Dyersburg State Community College, Union University and the Baptist Hospital System. He was previously elected to the Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Memphis where he served a three year term. He has overseen the tremendous growth of the organization during his time with the bank. Warren is also co-owner of Tennessee Tractor, which owns 10 John Deere dealerships and employs 350 people in 10 counties in West Tennessee. Warren is a graduate of the University of Memphis. He and his wife Eleanor live in Halls and have two sons and 6 grandchildren. |
Donald HogueDonald is the Secretary/ Treasurer of Security Bancorp and President of the Bank of Halls. He also serves on the boards of the Bank of Halls, Bank of Crockett, Gates Banking and Trust Company and Security Bank. Donald started with the Bank of Halls in 1962 and worked at the bank for 5 years before leaving to become a bank examiner for the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions in 1968. He worked in that capacity for nine years before returning to the bank in 1977. Donald attended Union University and is a graduate of the School for Bank Administration at the University of Wisconsin. He and his wife Patty live in Halls and have two children and 6 grandchildren. |
Nick NunnNick started his career in 1993 in the Fixed Income Division of Morgan Keegan in Memphis. He was a Senior Vice President working as a broker before leaving to join Security Bancorp in 2005. He serves on the Board of Directors for all six banks associated with Security Bancorp. Nick manages the investment portfolio and funds management duties for all six banks in the organization. He has also been Treasurer of United Telephone Company based in Chapel Hill, Tennessee. Nick also serves as a Board Member of Advance Memphis. Nick is a graduate of Auburn University. He and his wife Kara live in Memphis and have 3 children and are members of Second Presbyterian Church. |
Chris NunnChris joined the organization after auditing financial institutions for KPMG in Memphis. He is the Chief Financial Officer for Security Bancorp where he is responsible for financial analysis and reporting for the holding company and its subsidiary banks. He serves on the Board of Directors for all of our affiliated banks. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Bankers Association and the Independent Community Bankers of America. Chris is a graduate of Rhodes College where he is an adjunct professor in the Department of Commerce and Business. He and his wife Kim live in Memphis and have 3 children. |
David HayesDavid is President of Security Bank, which he joined in 1991 after spending 25 years with Union Planters National Bank in Memphis. He is very active in all aspects of the community in Dyersburg and nationally with the Independent Community Bankers Association. He served as Chairman of the ICBA for 2005- 2006. David also serves on the boards of Security Bank, Patriot Bank and The Bank of Jackson. David attended the University of Memphis and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He and his wife Sara live in Dyersburg and have two children and two grandchildren. |
Jackie FincherJackie began serving on Gates Banking and Trust Company Board of Directors in 2004. After attending Lambuth University in 1970 he began farming. He has continued farming for 44 years and currently farms with his two sons, Stephen and Austin and two grandsons. He married his high school sweetheart Bonnie 47 years ago and they have 3 children, 2 daughter-in-laws and 4 grandchildren. Jackie and his family are members of Archers Chapel United Methodist Church in Frog Jump, TN. |
Johnny DodsonJohnny has been on the Gates Banking and Trust board since 1995. He owns and operates the farm that has been in his family for over 100 years and has a diversified operation growing cotton, corn, soybeans and wheat. He has been appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture to serve as United Soybean Board Director from Tennessee. He has been a member of the Tennessee Soybean Association for 20 years, serving as secretary, treasurer, vice president and president of the state organization before being elected to serve 3 consecutive 3 year terms as a board member of the American Soybean Association. He became President and Chairman of ASA and also served as Chairman of the Tennessee Soy Promotion Board for nine years. He is also on the advisory board for Ag Innovation Development Group. He has been on the Executive Board of the Dyer County Fair Association for 20 years after serving as President. Johnny was instrumental in organizing the Fowlkes Volunteer Fire Department serving as Chief for many years, and he continues to volunteer his time to help the community. Johnny has been married to his wife Laura for thirty three years and they have one son, John H. Dodson III. |
James SmithJames joined Security Bancorp in 2006. James assists primarily with regulatory and board reporting, loan monitoring and consumer compliance issues for the holding company and its subsidiary banks. He was the President of The Bank of Friendship from 1999 to 2002. He left to become President of Citizens City and County Bank in Trenton, Tennessee working there until leaving to join Security Bancorp. James is President of Gates Banking and Trust Company, an Executive Vice President and Cashier at the Bank of Halls and serves on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Halls and Gates Banking and Trust Company. James is a graduate of The University of Tennessee at Martin. He and his wife Cindy live in Friendship and have 1 daughter. |
